Unico was born in Tokyo and grew up in the United States in New Jersey ,  since she was three years old. She taught herself  how to play the piano at age 18 and began to write music, lyrics and perform. Through discipline and hard work she became  a multi-talented musical genius.In 2005, Unico was invited to go to Paris with Japanese- French cultural exchange group and had a chance to present her performance in the garden of Louvre museum.Her performance was so highly appreciated by Mr. D.C. Jensen, the owner of “Gogh house” and “Key of Gogh House”,  that he gave Unico the keys to both houses. This award has been given to only 400 artists and cultural activists in the world. Only 2 keys were given to Japanese Nationals  including herself.Unico  was signed to AvexTrax, one of the biggest record labels in Japan.  She was picked from thousands of artist that  auditioned as an artist for the label.In 2007, she started her activities in New York and became well accepted by professional artists.With her success in Japan and in America, Unico is quickly becoming an International star.Recently Unico has been working with Comtemporary Japan, a Japanese cultural group,for  which she wrote a song called ‘Wish’. ‘Wish’  has been approved as the official song of the 2016 Olympics in Tokoyo. She also sang the Japanese anthem at the Ajinomoto Stadium before the kick off of American football game.
She currently has a single out in Japan called ‘Tell Me Why’, that was produced by Dj Hiro, one of the hottest producers in Japan.
Now she is working with producer Yanagiman, Kamishin Kosuke, who is a hit making producer in Japan.preparing for her release 2013.

東京生まれ。３歳の時にアメリカ合衆国ニュージャージーに渡り、以後13歳までをアメリカで過ごす。帰国後、日本で雑誌、ショーなどを中心にモデルとして活躍。以後、小さな頃から親しんでいた音楽の世界へ進む。2005年、シャガール以来許されなかったルーブル美術館所蔵の「モナ・リザ」の模写を日本人として初めて許された画家、斉藤吾郎氏主催の文化活動、日仏文化交流会参加メンバーとしてフランスへ渡り、ルーヴル美術館にてピアノ弾き語りライブを披露。それが評判となり、フランス『ゴッホの館』館長チャールズ・ジョンセン氏より、限られたアーティストにのみ授与される“ゴッホの鍵”を贈られる。




その後、日本で文化活動・文化交流イベントをメインにライブ活動を開始。東京タワー内『club333』、代々木公園野外音楽ステージで行われた格闘家・須藤元気をオフィシャルサポーターとする社会活動イベント『渋谷PEACE祭』、大手町『マンハッタンブルー』、東京プリンスホテル『桜タワー』、代々木公園野外音楽ステージで行われた日本最大のブロックパーティ『B－BOY PARK』、上田正樹によるClub IKSPIARIでのライブになどに参加し、ソロライブを
披露する。

その間にNY『196BAR』から招聘を受け、『Unico Live in NY』と題したソロライブを行う。NYでの初めてのライブながら、その実力が現地の各業界人から高い評価を受け、国際派アーティストとして音楽制作活動をNYで開始する。
NYでのライブを機に、Naughty By Nature、Queen Latifah などのプロデュースを手がけ、自身名義のフルアルバム『Within Transition』も発表し世界的ヒットを飛ばしたカリスマトラックメイカー/ラッパー、Pismoと共同で楽曲を製作。またLauryn Hill、Whitney HoustonのプロデューサーであるJ-ROCK'Sとも楽曲を作成し、Billy Evansからも楽曲提供を受ける。また「現代アーティストと考えるオリンピック招致」で起案したNY-CITYプロジェクトの一環としてコンテンポラリー・ジャパンがサポートし、2009年2月28日にＮＹのUniversity of the StreetsにてTYONYC presents Unico Live "2016"と題したソロ ライブを行う。

その後オリンピック招致の活動のため日本に帰国。日蘭交流年周400 年記念交流イベントにて2016年東京オリンピック・パラリンピック招致にインスパイアを受け作詞、作曲した曲「WISH」をピアノの生演奏とともに披露します。

そこでのパフォーマンスに高い評価を得て早稲田大学と慶応大学とのファイナルゲームのキックオフにて味の素スタジアムでの国歌斉唱に抜擢、アカペラで熱唱。
その他、２０１０年Matuyama Hideki が優勝したAsian Amateur Championshipの司会者としても選ばれる。また、その日本人離れしたビジュアルをいかし2010年７月
タグホイヤーの新モデルのイメージガールに。
